Gene Elder

Flip director, Gene Elder, and his team have a passion for developing people and businesses to their highest potential.

Gene is known as a motivational educator, facilitator, coach and presenter, in the private, government and vocational sectors, and all with a great sense of humour.

A recipient of the Winston Churchill Fellowship Award and a Massey University Scholar, Gene has run his own import business from Japan, a major events business, and was the State Program Director for High Resolves, a pioneering leadership program in schools and corporations in Victoria. He has held marketing management roles in both the commercial and government sectors and has lectured to students completing their masters degrees at The University of Melbourne. Gene also co-founded the New Zealand Victoria Business Group, an influential, member-based business network that creates and hosts large-scale, trans-Tasman events.

With an enthusiasm for discovering what makes companies and people tick, Gene and his team like to find ways of making learning fun and enables people and companies to move beyond their ‘road blocks’. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Marketing and Finance), a Diploma of Management and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Gene has been on The Amazing Race, held the Guinness World record for the world’s largest haka performed at Federation Square, has climbed Mount Everest (well, not quite right to the summit), completed the four-day Inca Trail in Peru and has traveled the world extensively.
